Okay folks, I rented a beach house for Wednesday through Sunday. We decided on Edisto Island rather than Folly Beach. Folly Beach had very little availability for that week and the prices were sky high. We prefer Edisto, which is another 30 minutes away from Charleston, but still within easy distance for a day trip, and also 1 1/2 hours from Savannah, GA, for Curtis and Maryvonne who may be driving south. It is a beautiful, non-commercialized beach, with a nice bike path, fresh fish and shrimp to buy, nearby farmer's markets, and opportunities to kayak or take a tour of the old island homes. We love it!

It is not right on the beach, but an easy walk just a few minutes away.
